Volleyball Recap: Madison Minniear Key Part of Team Effort in Bison Win

Benton Central hadn't done well against McCutcheon recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bison came out on top against the Mavericks by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bison also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 25-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Benton Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison Minniear, who had ten digs and three aces. That's the most digs Minniear has posted over her last ten contests. Bella Widmer was another key player, getting 18 digs and four assists.

They weren't the only good servers: Benton Central was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matchups.

Benton Central's record is now 16-5. As for McCutcheon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Benton Central will head out to face off against Twin Lakes at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for McCutcheon, they will face off against Angola at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
