Basketball Game Preview: King's Academy Knights vs. Athens Christian Preparatory Academy Storm

After both having extra time off, the King's Academy Knights and the Athens Christian Preparatory Academy Storm will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. King's Academy is looking for their season's first win.

King's Academy managed to keep up with East Texas Homeschool Sports until halftime last Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. King's Academy might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting East Texas Homeschool Sports an easy 49-29 victory. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly 20 points.

Meanwhile, Athens Christian Preparatory Academy lost 50-28 to Trinity Christian Academy two weeks ago. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

King's Academy will need focus on slowing down Trinity Williams, one of several Athens Christian Preparatory Academy players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 11 points. Those 11 points gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiley Normandin, who had eight points.

King's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Athens Christian Preparatory Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

King's Academy was dealt a bruising 72-26 loss at the hands of Athens Christian Preparatory Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point King's Academy was down 40-18.
