Basketball Game Preview: San Diego Academy Cavaliers vs. Horizon Prep Lions

The San Diego Academy Cavaliers will face off against the Horizon Prep Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Diego Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, San Diego Academy didn't have too much trouble with Ocean View Christian as they won 49-35.

San Diego Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rudy Nieto led the charge by putting up 11 points in addition to five boards and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Love, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Horizon Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Logan Memorial Education Campus.

Horizon Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for San Diego Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

San Diego Academy beat Horizon Prep 56-43 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Diego Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
