Baseball Recap: Midview Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Midview and Steele had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Middies lost 9-1 to the Comets on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Middies have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Midview got a good showing from Henry Calcut, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Midview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Vogelpohl, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Midview now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Steele, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Midview will venture away from home to square off against Rocky River at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Steele, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Brunswick at 12:00 p.m. on the 19th.
