Soccer Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

If Salem was riding high fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Churchland last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sundevils came up short against the Kempsville Chiefs on Tuesday, falling 5-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Salem were already down 3-0.

Salem dropped their record down to 4-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Kempsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1-1.

Salem will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Landstown at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Kempsville, they have already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Princess Anne on the 10th.
