Saguaro has no trouble against Salpointe Catholic

Recap: Saguaro Sabercats vs. Salpointe Catholic Lancers

The Saguaro Sabercats extended their postseason success on Friday against the Salpointe Catholic Lancers. They enjoyed a cozy 42-24 victory over the Lancers. 42 seems to be a good number for Saguaro as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Saguaro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaedon Matthews, who rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also picked up 53 receiving yards. Jacob Brown was in the mix too, providing Saguaro with two touchdowns.

Despite the loss, Salpointe Catholic still got an impressive performance from Jaxson Banhie, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown.

The win (which was Saguaro's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.8 points per game. As for Salpointe Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.

Saguaro will be playing at home against Red Mountain at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Red Mountain is ranked 11th, while Saguaro is ranked seventh). Salpointe Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
