The Dr. Phillips Panthers will square off against the Windermere Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Dr. Phillips is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Freedom as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.
Ramses De Maio made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. De Maio was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Dr. Phillips let Chris Pedrinan and Brody Cone run wild. Pedrinan got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Cone went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Pedrinan has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Edwin Jaimes, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Dr. Phillips always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Freedom only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Windermere made sure to put some runs up on the board against Olympia on Wednesday. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Titans. Considering the Wolverines have won eight games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Xavier Roman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Diego Rodriguez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Johnston, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Dr. Phillips' victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Windermere, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.
Dr. Phillips couldn't quite finish off Windermere when the teams last played back in March and fell 5-3. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
