Volleyball Recap: Pymatuning Valley Lakers vs. St. John Fighting Herald
Pymatuning Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the St. John Fighting Herald. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Herald this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-9, 25-18.
St. John got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexa Jordan out in front who had 19 digs and three aces. Jordan has been hot, having posted 19 or more digs the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Carney, who had 12 digs.
Pymatuning Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for St. John, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pymatuning Valley will take on rival Harding at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. John is set to challenge their familiar foe Mathews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
