Basketball Recap: California City Comes Up Short

California City lost against Desert back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Ravens fell 42-38 to the Scorpions.

Despite the loss, California City saw an underclassman step up: freshman ANGELA COULTER shot 63% from the field to rack up 32 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of MALAYAH WARD, who posted six points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.

California City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Desert, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

California City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-36 win against The Palmdale Aerospace Academy on the 4th. As for Desert, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Rosamond at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Scorpions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
