Basketball Game Preview: Winnebago Indians vs. Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats

The Winnebago Indians will venture away from home to take on the Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Winnebago came up short against Bancroft-Rosalie and fell 67-57. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hartington-Newcastle beat Plainview 37-33 on Tuesday.

Winnebago's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Hartington-Newcastle, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Winnebago beat Hartington-Newcastle 40-32 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Winnebago since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
