Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Drury

Drury entered their tilt with Lenox Memorial on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Millionaires. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 back in April.

Lucas Rylander made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Drury got a massive performance out of Colby Malloy, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Julian Faliciano was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Drury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lenox Memorial only posted an OBP of .346.

Drury's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Lenox Memorial, they moved to 9-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Drury and Lenox Memorial should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Blue Devils will face off against Mount Everett Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (25 vs. 116). Meanwhile, Lenox Memorial (ranked 118th) will meet Lee (ranked 269th) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
