Meanwhile, Research Triangle Academy took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against North Duplin by a score of 3-1.

Holmes pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Research Triangle Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
