Basketball Recap: Thunderridge Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but ThunderRidge had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past the Vista PEAK Prep Bison with points to spare, taking the game 59-43. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Bison are ranked 50th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Drew Paine was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 14 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aman Binu, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 14 points.

ThunderRidge is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. Vista PEAK Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.

Looking ahead, ThunderRidge will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fruita Monument at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Fruita Monument sitting on 11 straight victories and ThunderRidge on nine. Vista PEAK Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
