Preview: West Florence Knights vs. Hartsville Red Foxes
The West Florence Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Hartsville Red Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
West Florence fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Wilson by a score of 34-22 on Friday.
Meanwhile, Hartsville's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past North Myrtle Beach 49-14 on the road. Given Hartsville's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while North Myrtle Beach is ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 5-3.
West Florence strolled past Hartsville in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 57-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Florence since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
