The Crestview Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Seneca East Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Seneca East took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Crestview, who comes in off a win.
Crestview barely beat New London the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-2 win on Friday.
Drew Spoerr made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kayn Patton was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Crestview: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyson Ringler, who went 1-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Mohawk hit Seneca East with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. Surprisingly, this marked the Tigers' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Like Crestview, Seneca East also got a great game from a two-way player: Colten Ehresman. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Ehresman a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Braydon Robinson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Gunner Polachek was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Seneca East's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Crestview, their record is now 8-12.
Seneca East's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Crestview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318.
