Preview: Cairo Pilots vs. Caruthersville Tigers
The Cairo Pilots's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Caruthersville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Monday.
Last Friday, Cairo was able to grind out a solid win over Thompsonville, taking the game 67-57.
Cairo's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jeserick Pilgram, who scored 19 points, and McKenlee Pirtle, who scored 25 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Caruthersville's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Graves County 71-66.
Cairo's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Caruthersville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.
Cairo was taken down by Caruthersville 81-37 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Cairo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
