Basketball Recap: Mancos Takes a Loss

Mancos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Dove Creek Bulldogs, falling 42-20. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Josh Kibel was a one-man wrecking crew for Dove Creek as he went 7 for 14 on his way to 14 points, to go along with eight rebounds and six steals. The dominant performance gave Kibel a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Hassell, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Mancos' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dove Creek, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Mancos will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Ignacio at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dove Creek, they will be taking part in a tournament against North Park at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
