Basketball Recap: Crimson Cliffs Mustangs vs. Cedar Reds
The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cedar. While losing is never fun, Crimson Cliffs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Reds are ranked 18th).
Crimson Cliffs' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kenadee Richey, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Kinsey Plewe who scored eight points.
Crimson Cliffs has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Cedar, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Crimson Cliffs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar, they will head out on the road to take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Snow Canyon sitting on 16 straight wins and the Reds on four.
