Softball Game Preview: Westside Wolverines vs. Englewood Rams

The Westside Wolverines will challenge the Englewood Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Westside and four for Englewood.

Westside fell victim to St. Johns Country Day and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 25-0 to the Spartans. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wolverines' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Englewood had taken Riverside down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Rams came up short against the Generals, falling 22-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered against the Generals since April 14, 2021.

Kiandra Carswell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Tshaielle Fudge also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Englewood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Westside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
