Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Maricopa on Thursday, but Maricopa never followed suit. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 5-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won three games in a row.

The result came thanks to John Sunukjian's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy let Hunter Edmunds and Cruz Corona run wild. Edmunds scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Corona scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Edmunds is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. TJ Loftis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win got Pusch Ridge Christian Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Maricopa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
