Football Recap: Dunnellon Drops Season-High Score on Specially Fit Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dunnellon). They walked away with a 33-22 victory over the Specially Fit Academy Rams on Friday.

Dunnellon had a senior duo take command as Dylan Curry threw for 202 yards and one touchdown on only 17 passes and Iterrean Mitchell gained 86 total yards and two touchdowns. Mitchell's longest reception was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Dunnellon's defense and their four sacks. Kaiden Robinson-Vickers refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Dunnellon's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Specially Fit Academy, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunnellon will head out to take on North Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Colts' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Specially Fit Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against P.K. Yonge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will be up against the Blue Wave's rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
