Soccer Game Preview: Salem vs. Cave Spring

For the first time this season, Salem will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to take on the Cave Spring Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

While Salem's win against Lord Botetourt wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans won by a goal and slipped past the Cavaliers 2-1.

Meanwhile, Cave Spring didn't have quite enough to beat Pulaski County on Friday and fell 2-1. The loss put an end to Cave Spring's undefeated start to the season.

Cave Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Salem beat Cave Spring by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 1-0. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
