Softball Recap: Bryan Triumphs

Bryan posted their closest win since May 31, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Wauseon Indians. The Golden Bears haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Thea Staten spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bryan's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Amiyah Langham, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Bryan's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Wauseon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bryan will head out to square off against Hicksville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Aces will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Golden Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wauseon, they will venture away from home to face off against Holgate at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
