Basketball Recap: East Mountain Takes a Loss

East Mountain and Tularosa squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but East Mountain had to settle for second. They fell 50-40 to the Tularosa Wildcats. The Timberwolves have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Despite the loss, East Mountain saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eric Hofmann dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Hofmann is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Vicente J Ortiz, who posted 12 points.

East Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Tularosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

East Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tularosa, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-49 loss against Bosque on the 12th.
