Volleyball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

The Riverside Bulldogs came up short against the McLaurin Tigers on Saturday and fell 3-1.

Riverside started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-17, 25-11, 25-12.

McLaurin found their leader in sophomore Kaylee Holeman, who had 25 digs and three assists. Those 25 digs set a new season-high mark for Holeman.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for McLaurin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Riverside will challenge O'Bannon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for McLaurin, they will take on Pelahatchie at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Chiefs at the right time seeing as the Chiefs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
