Volleyball Recap: Legacy Starts Season with Win Against Lincoln Park Academy

Legacy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds.

Legacy never let Lincoln Park Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-14.

Taylor Smith paced Legacy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Smith got some help from Meredith Prince and her 29 assists. Prince also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lyla Barker-Bray, racking up four apiece.

Lincoln Park Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Legacy will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Martin County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln Park Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on St. Edward's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
