Recap: Patel Trailblazers vs. Calvary Christian Warriors
The Patel Trailblazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 57-34 defeat at the hands of Calvary Christian. While losing is never fun, Patel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Calvary Christian is ranked 167th).
When it comes to explaining why Patel lost, one person who can't be blamed is SIMARKAE MCLEAN. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. That was a full 61.8% of Patel's points, marking the 15th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Patel has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Calvary Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Patel will be playing at home against Brandon Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Calvary Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Largo at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
