Basketball Recap: Valley Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Valley Pirates ended up a good deal behind the Northland Prep Academy Spartans and lost 73-57. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly 16 points.

Jaden Joiner was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 18 on his way to 25 points and four steals for Northland Prep Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Delani Hanson, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Valley and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Northland Prep Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley will venture away from home to square off against Round Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northland Prep Academy, they will face off against BASIS Flagstaff at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. BASIS Flagstaff knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Northland Prep Academy likes a good challenge.
