Softball Recap: Ludlow Wins Going Away Against Bellevue

Ludlow made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bellevue, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers blew past the Tigers 14-1 on Wednesday. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 30-6 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Juliette Hansen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Emilee Patton was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases.

Ludlow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Ludlow's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bellevue, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Ludlow will challenge Dixie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Colonels at the right time seeing as the Colonels are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Bellevue, they will face off against Newport Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
