Basketball Game Preview: Fort Defiance Indians vs. Staunton Storm

Fort Defiance hasn't had much luck against Staunton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fort Defiance Indians just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Staunton Storm at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Fort Defiance is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 95-51 victory over Buffalo Gap. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Meanwhile, Staunton came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 75-61 win over the Cougars.

Staunton pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Fort Defiance, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Fort Defiance ended up a good deal behind Staunton when the teams last played on January 15th, losing 87-72. Can Fort Defiance avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
