Basketball Game Preview: Deer Park Wildcats vs. Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS

The Deer Park Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Deer Park was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 63-59 to Mariemont. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Madeira, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Finneytown by a score of 56-47 on Tuesday.

Madeira's win came from a few key players Deer Park will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ben Reed, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Beck, who went 7 of 12 en route to 16 points.

The victory got Madeira back to even at 4-4. As for Deer Park, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Deer Park couldn't quite finish off Madeira when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 59-57. Can Deer Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
