Volleyball Recap: Excel Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Excel faced off against Central on Saturday. The Panthers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 2-1.

Excel's offense was headlined by Gracee Kelly and Madelyn Flummer, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Kensley Rowell and her four assists. Finally, Ava McPhaul kept Excel's defense grounded, leading the team with ten blocks.

Excel has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Excel has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Blacksher on the 4th. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Milton on the 4th.
