Softball Recap: Westfield Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pendleton Heights

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westfield). They put the hurt on the Pendleton Heights Arabians with a sharp 14-6 win on Monday. With that victory, the Shamrocks brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Ava Kainrath was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Cam Pulice was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Westfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Westfield moved to 10-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Pendleton Heights, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westfield will head out to challenge Hamilton Southeastern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royals will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Shamrocks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pendleton Heights, they will square off against Greenfield-Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Arabians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
