Ashanti Pagan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pagan was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leena Sakal, who went 4-for-5 with two RBI and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Cresswell, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Davenport hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Davenport's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Poinciana, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Davenport's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Poinciana hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336.
