The Kingman Bulldogs will take on the Monument Valley Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kingman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Kingman took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bourgade Catholic with a sharp 11-1 victory. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Codey Padilla made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Canton Collins and Garrick Hallman did most of the damage at the plate: Collins scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Hallman scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, Collins posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan Munn, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Kingman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bourgade Catholic only posted an OBP of .118.

Meanwhile, Monument Valley fell victim to Monticello and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 24-0 to the Buckaroo.

Kingman's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Monument Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
