Volleyball Recap: Southwest Extends Winning Streak to Six

Southwest had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Alma Cardinals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

The victory didn't come easy: Alma scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22.

Southwest was led to victory by Bellamie Stritt and Kyra Nelms. Stritt had 11 digs, while Nelms had 35 kills, eight digs, and one block. Nelms is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last 46 games she's played dating back to last season.

Southwest's win bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Alma, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.

Southwest has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Cambridge on the 20th. As for Alma, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Arapahoe on the 20th.
