Baseball Recap: Nicolet Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Berlin Eisenhower, Nicolet was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Shorewood Greyhounds by a score of 7-2. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Nick Bongard, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Nicolet's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Shorewood, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nicolet will head out to face off against Waukesha North at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Shorewood, they will venture away from home to square off against Germantown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
