Basketball Recap: Calhoun Comes Up Short

Calhoun extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were dealt a 75-39 loss at the hands of the Brazos Cougars. The Sandcrabs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-14.

As for Brazos, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Haiden Hickman was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-15 on his way to 20 points along with seven boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Harris, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Calhoun wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-52 victory against Van Vleck on the 11th. As for Brazos, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-58 defeat against Columbia on the 11th.
