Basketball Recap: Payton Futch's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lakeside over Nashville

If Lakeside was feeling good fresh off their 57-28 takedown of El Dorado last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lakeside Rams came up short against the Nashville Scrappers on Tuesday, falling 75-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered since December 7, 2024.

Lakeside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton Futch, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 19 points and five boards. That was a full 38.8% of Lakeside's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Williams, who put up 16 points.
