Baseball Recap: Gila Ridge Comes Up Short

Gila Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 9-5 to the Skyline Coyotes. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Coyotes from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Noah Caza made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James McMullen, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Even though they lost, Gila Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Gila Ridge's record is now 1-10. As for Skyline, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gila Ridge will venture away from home to challenge Cesar Chavez at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Skyline, they will head out to face off against Westwood at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Westwood will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Skyline surely won't give up without a fight.
