Volleyball Recap: Gaffney Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Gaffney suffered their biggest loss since September 25th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Dorman Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-11, 25-9.

Despite the defeat, Gaffney saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mayson Brizendine had ten digs and two assists. Brizendine has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Dorman was led to victory by Kenzie Hang and Ramsey Larke Chastain. Hang had nine digs and two assists, while Chastain had seven digs and one block.

Gaffney's loss dropped their record down to 13-11-2. As for Dorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gaffney is set to take on their familiar foe Wade Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Dorman will face off against rival Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
