Valley Christian has gone 8-2 against Lourdes recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Warriors will welcome the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Valley Christian got the win against Dodgeland by a conclusive 3-0. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Valley Christian not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Dodgeland between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-16.
Valley Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bella Birr led the charge by getting four digs and two aces. That's the most aces Birr has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Demler, who had nine digs and one assist.
They weren't the only good servers: Valley Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.
Lourdes hadn't beaten Horicon on the road since September 17, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Knights walked away with a 3-1 win over the Marshmen.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 26-28, 25-22.
Lourdes' victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Valley Christian, their win bumped their record up to 21-6.
Valley Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Lourdes in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
