Basketball Game Preview: Pollok Central Bulldogs vs. Diboll Lumberjacks

Pollok Central hasn't had much luck against Diboll recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pollok Central Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Diboll Lumberjacks at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pollok Central beat Huntington 43-39.

Meanwhile, Diboll strolled past Newton with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 57-38. The contest marked the Lumberjacks' most dominant win of the season.

Diboll found their leader in sophomore Tyrece Mcmillan, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 26 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Mcmillan is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Jaydan Miller was another key player, putting up seven points and six steals.

Diboll smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Pollok Central has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Diboll, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Pollok Central beat Diboll 41-31 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Pollok Central repeat their success, or does Diboll have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
