Volleyball Recap: Elkhorn Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Walthill on Monday, Elkhorn Valley came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears on Tuesday. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Cameron Rutjens paced Elkhorn Valley's offense, picking up 16 kills. Rutjens got some help from Kyndal Werner and her 20 assists. Werner was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Elkhorn Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 29-3.

Elkhorn Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Oakland-Craig on the 29th.
