Softball Recap: Pottstown Comes Up Short

Pottstown extended their losing streak to 11 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-12 in the process. They came up short against Pope John Paul II, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Pope John Paul II this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 back in April.

As for Pope John Paul II, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Pope John Paul II, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

For Pope John Paul II's part, Lexi DiBricida looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Grace Fitzgerald was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Houchins, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
