Preview: Lamar Thunder vs. Centauri Falcons
Having just played yesterday, the Lamar Thunder will head out on the road to face off against the Centauri Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lamar was handed a two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rocky Ford on Monday. Lamar breezed by Rocky Ford at home to the tune of 65-32. Lamar pushed the score to 49-27 by the end of the third, a deficit Rocky Ford had little chance of recovering from.
Diego Estrada was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 16 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Austin Thacker, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Centauri can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They blew past Ignacio, posting a 62-31 victory on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Centauri who now have four in a row.
Lamar has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Centauri, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.
Lamar took a serious blow against Centauri when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 56-19. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lamar was down 34-13.
