Claremont needed a changed in momentum after dropping seven straight games and they got it from Jaden Cardenas. The Claremont Wolfpack walked away with a 51-44 win over the Mary Star of the Sea Stars on Monday thanks in part to Cardenas, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. What's more, he also racked up three steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Claremont's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Mary Star of the Sea, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Claremont and Walnut will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Walnut's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games. As for Mary Star of the Sea, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Genevieve at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mary Star of the Sea is on a four-game streak of home wins, St. Genevieve a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
