Basketball Preview: Olympia Titans vs. Cypress Creek Bears
Olympia is 6-0 against the Bears since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Olympia Titans will face off against the Cypress Creek Bears at TBD. Olympia has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Friday, Olympia didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Lions , but they still walked away with a 54-49 win.
Olympia found their leader in underclassman Ava Pazos, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Pazos hasn't dropped below three steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Arlinda Roundtree, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 67 points the game before, Cypress Creek were a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Winter Park, falling 56-15. Cypress Creek was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-4.
Olympia's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Cypress Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Olympia against the Bears in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 60-28 win. Does Olympia have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
