Basketball Recap: Hinckley-Finlayson Takes a Loss

Hinckley-Finlayson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Marshall Hilltoppers and fell 87-56. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 147th).

Hinckley-Finlayson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Marshall, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Hinckley-Finlayson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crosby-Ironton at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Marshall, they will challenge Proctor at 9:00 a.m. on January 4, 2025.
