Basketball Game Preview: Zeeland West Dux vs. Hudsonville Eagles

Zeeland West is 0-5 against Hudsonville since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Zeeland West Dux will take on the Hudsonville Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Zeeland West is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.

Last Friday, Zeeland West beat Covenant Christian 39-29. Given the Dux's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Chargers are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hudsonville escaped with a win on Friday against Grandville by the margin of a single free throw, 25-24. The 25-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Hudsonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points over those games. Zeeland West pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Zeeland West was taken down by Hudsonville 53-24 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hudsonville's Josie Desmit, who went 7-for-11 en route to 15 points and five assists.
